Privacy Policy — Color Dock

Last updated: 28 July 2026

This policy explains what information the mobile game Color Dock ("the App", "we", "us") collects, why, and what choices you have. It is written to be read by a normal person, not a lawyer.

Color Dock is published by Russell's Apps, an independent app developer based in India. Color Dock is an iPhone and iPad game, distributed only through Apple's App Store.

The short version

  • Color Dock does not ask you to create an account, and does not collect your name, email, phone number, photos, contacts, or precise GPS location.
  • We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how people play (which levels are fun, where people get stuck) so we can improve the game.
  • The App may show ads through Google AdMob. These are non-personalised — the App does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA) and does not track you across other apps or websites.
  • If you buy coins, the purchase is handled by Apple's App Store — we never see your card details.
  • The game is not directed at children under 13.

The sections below give the detail.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The App is published by Russell's Apps (the "data controller"), an independent developer based in India, contactable at submariner.date@gmail.com. If you have any question or request about your data, email that address.

2. What we collect and why

a) Usage & analytics data — always on

We use Google Analytics for Firebase to measure how the game is played. This automatically collects:

  • A random analytics identifier Google assigns to your app install (not your name).
  • Device and technical info: device model, operating-system version, language, and general region/country (derived from your IP address — this is approximate, city or country level, not GPS).
  • In-game events: for example, which level was started or completed, how many moves you used, whether a level was failed or retried, and whether a hint or shop screen was opened.

Why: to see which levels are too hard or too easy, whether people come back, and where they lose interest — so we can make the game better. We look at this data in aggregate (patterns across many players), not to identify you personally.

We also keep our own anonymous gameplay record for each install, stored with Google Firebase. It contains a random install ID (not your name), your level progress and coin balance, which levels used a hint, whether notifications are switched on, your device model, and — once the App is on the App Store — which Apple Search Ads keyword led you to install it (Apple provides this without identifying you). This is the same kind of data as above, used the same way, and is never linked to your identity.

b) Advertising data — if the App shows ads

The App may display ads through Google AdMob. These ads are non-personalised: the App does not use Apple's advertising identifier (IDFA), does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission, and does not track you across other apps or websites. To deliver a non-personalised ad and to prevent fraud, AdMob may still process:

  • Approximate location (country/region, from your IP address — not GPS) and general device information,
  • Ad-interaction data (which ads were shown, viewed, or tapped).

Why: ads help keep the game free to play. Because the ads are non-personalised, there is no cross-app tracking to switch off.

c) Purchase data — only if you buy something

If you buy coins or any in-app item, the transaction is processed by Apple's App Store. Apple handles your payment; we do not receive or store your card or payment details. We may receive a confirmation that a purchase happened (and which item), so we can deliver what you bought.

We do not collect health, financial account, biometric, contacts, messages, photos, files, or precise-location data.

3. Who your data is shared with

We do not sell your personal data. Data is processed by the service providers that make the game work:

ProviderPurposeTheir privacy policy
Google (Firebase / Google Analytics)Usage analyticshttps://firebase.google.com/support/privacy · https://policies.google.com/privacy
Google AdMob (if ads are shown)Serving adshttps://policies.google.com/technologies/ads
Apple (if you purchase)Processing paymentshttps://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/

These providers process data under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose information if required by law.

4. Where data is processed & how long it is kept

Our providers (Google) operate globally, so your information may be processed on servers outside your country, including the United States. Google applies safeguards for such transfers under its own policies.

Analytics data is retained according to our Firebase settings (up to 14 months), after which Google deletes or aggregates it. Purchase records are kept as required for accounting and to honour purchases.

5. Your choices and rights

  • Ads: the App shows only non-personalised ads and does not track you across apps, so there is no tracking permission to manage. (Separately, you can control Apple's own system-wide personalised ads in Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising.)
  • Stop analytics collection: uninstalling the App stops all further collection.
  • Access or delete your data: email submariner.date@gmail.com and we will action any request we are able to (for example, asking Google to delete analytics data tied to your install). Because we don't collect names or emails, we may ask you to provide your device's app-instance ID to locate the right data.

Depending on where you live, you may have specific legal rights:

  • EEA / UK (GDPR): rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, and to data portability. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and improving the game and showing non-personalised ads to keep it free.
  • California (CCPA/CPRA): we do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what we collect and to request deletion.
  • India (DPDP Act): you may request access to and correction or erasure of your data.

To exercise any right, contact submariner.date@gmail.com.

6. Children

Color Dock is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13 (or under the applicable age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data security

We rely on the security measures of Apple's App Store and Google's platforms (Firebase, AdMob), which use encryption in transit and industry-standard protections. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. Significant changes may also be noted in the App.
